Appleby Manor is Blooming Marvelous!!
Appleby Manor Country House Hotel picked up two awards for the gardens at the Hotel.
At the Appleby In Bloom awards 2003 we claimed first prize, with the Mayor presenting us a framed certificate and the Royal Oak shield for the best commercial garden.
At the Cumbria In Bloom ceremony we won first prize in the Cumbria Tourist Board 'Jackie Sanderson' trophy section, again for the best hotel floral display in the county.
Ronnie said afterwards "we are trying to improve our efforts every year and last year we did get commended. We have won prizes in the Appleby in Bloom awards before, but this is the first prize in Cumbria in bloom and we didn't expect it at all. We are over the moon."
