What are your check-in & check-out times?
Guests are able to check-in to their room from 2pm. The latest check-out is 11am.

We are now fully non-smoking
Where is the closest railway station?
Appleby 1/2 mile. Appleby is on the scenic Settle to Carlisle Railway, connecting with the west coast main line. The Settle to Carlisle route is very popular with tourists and encompasses many of Britain's best viaducts.
Do you have a lift?
Unfortunately, because of the age of the building and layout we cannot provide a lift, but we do have ten ground floor bedrooms.
Do you have ground floor rooms?
We have ten ground floor rooms situated in either the Garden Room wing or Coach House Annex.
Do you cater for Vegetarians?
Yes, we have a vegetarian menu, with ample choice. However if you can't find anything to satisfy your appetite, please ask the chef for alternatives.
Do you cater for special diets?
We are allergy aware, we can cater for most diets, i.e. nut allergy, gluten free diets, diabetics and vegans. Please inform us before you arrive so we can prepare for your visit.
Can I get room service?
Yes, you can order from the room service menu anytime between 10am and 11pm.
What facilities do the rooms have?
Ensuite bath/shower, hot drink making facilities, comfortable chairs/desk, TV with satellite channels/in-house movies, telephone and modem point with direct dial, hairdryer, use of iron/board, room service, baby listening service.
Do you have disabled/wheelchair access?
The hotel is accessible to wheelchairs and we have 10 rooms on the ground floor.
How can I make my stay extra special?
Why not make your stay extra special with one of our celebration packages with a wide variety of options including champagne, flowers, fruit baskets or chocolates to name a few. Please ask about our packages when booking.
Do you have laundry facilities?
Washing and drying facilities are available on site, provided at an extra charge.
Do you accept children?
We like to think we are family friendly! Children staying in their parents room stay free until the age of 16. Children in their own room are charged at 50% of the applicable rate. There are no age restrictions, baby listening service available, we also provide a childrens menu and there is a play area within the gardens.

The bar of course is open all day to residents.
What is there to do in the area?
Appleby Manor benefits from being situated close to both the Lake District and North Pennines, there is an abundance of activities and attractions: Rheged, Beatrix Potter, Eden Ostrich World to name but a few. Please refer to 101 things to do on the website.
